Our Beliefs.

The Coptic Orthodox Church is a Christian church that is based in Egypt and follows the teachings of the Bible and the traditions of the early Christian church. Its beliefs are centered on the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and the power of God's grace to transform lives.

One of the central beliefs of the Coptic Orthodox Church is the Holy Trinity, which is the belief that God is one in three persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Coptic Orthodox Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he is fully divine and fully human. They also believe in the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.

The Coptic Orthodox Church observes seven sacraments, which are seen as outward signs of God's grace and the means by which believers can receive it. These sacraments include baptism, confirmation, the Eucharist, penance, anointing of the sick, holy orders, and matrimony.

In addition to its sacramental life, the Coptic Orthodox Church places a strong emphasis on liturgical worship and the role of the clergy in leading the community in spiritual matters. It follows a liturgical calendar that includes a cycle of feasts and fasts, and its liturgical rites are characterized by a strong emphasis on hymns and chanting.

The Coptic Orthodox Church also has a strong devotion to the Virgin Mary and the saints, and it has a rich tradition of monasticism. Coptic Orthodox Christians believe that the Virgin Mary is the mother of Jesus and that she is a role model for all believers. They also honor the saints as examples of faith and as intermediaries who can intercede on behalf of believers.

In addition to its spiritual practices, the Coptic Orthodox Church is committed to charitable works and social justice. It encourages its members to care for the poor and marginalized in society and to work for the common good.

Overall, the beliefs of the Coptic Orthodox Church are centered on the teachings of Jesus Christ and the message of salvation through faith in God. It offers a rich spiritual heritage and a supportive community for those seeking to deepen their faith and grow in their relationship with God.
